Laborers - Part-Time
Primary Job Purpose:
Manually move freight, stock, and materials and prepare them for the manufacturing process. Prepare finished parts for shipment or delivery.
Essential Job Functions:
• Attach identifying tags to containers, or mark them with identifying information.
• Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs.
• Record numbers of units handled and moved, using daily production sheets, invoices, or packing slips.
• Move freight, stock, and other materials to and from storage and production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, and containers, by hand or using trucks, tractors, and other equipment.
• Cut materials using semi-automatic and automatic band saws.
• Deburr saw cut material using hand tools.
• Clean production areas and equipment.
• Clean, deburr, sort, count, and package finished parts.
• Assemble products using hand and power tools.
• Package and prepare boxes for safe shipment.
• Pack containers and re-pack damaged containers.
• Carry needed tools and supplies from storage and return them after use.
• Achieve a service-focused culture with emphasis on delivering high-quality products and services to internal and external customers.

Job Specifications:
Knowledge Required:
English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Public Safety and Security — Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.

Abilities Required:

Trunk Strength — The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without 'giving out' or fatiguing.
Multilimb Coordination — The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion.
Near Vision — The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
Oral Comprehension — The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
Oral Expression — The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
Control Precision — The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.
Manual Dexterity — The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.

Arm-Hand Steadiness — The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
